The final results of the municipal councils elections in Beida were announced this by Tathallah Khalifa, . . .[restrict]the head of the local sub-committee of the Central Committee for Municipal Council Elections (CCMCE).
Nine councillors were elected including two to the seats reserved for a woman and an injured revolutionary fighter. Those chosen were Ali Abdulali Belqasem, Saad Sulaiman Mohamed Hemmri, Ali Iddris Mohamed Traiki, Abdullah Mutwal Ali and Ali Hussain Mohamed Abobaker. Fawzia Ali Younis won the woman’s seat and Sulaiman Mohamed Sulaiman the seat reserved for a revolutionary with a disability.
On Saturday, 23966 people were eligible to vote in the first of what by February will be 101 elections to the new municipalities. The size of the Beida turnout has not yet been announced. [/restrict]
