Tripoli, 29 November 2013:
Libya is to give Zambia’s agricultural sector a boost with a donation of ten new tractors.
The Libyan Ambassador . . .[restrict]to Zambia, Lofti Al-Riani, said the tractors would contribute to the development of Zambia’s agriculture sector, according to the Times of Zambia. The vehicles, which have a value of US$ 360,000, marked the beginning of cooperation between the two countries, Riani said.
Zambia’s Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Julius Shawa said that the donation would boost government efforts to mechanise the country’s agricultural sector. It would help to empower small-scale farmers, he said, by reducing labour. [/restrict]
