Tripoli, 25 September 2013:
The son of the Libya’s Defence Minister, Abdullah Al-Thini, was abducted yesterday afternoon, an source close . . .[restrict]to the Ministry of Defence told the Libya Herald under the condition of anonymity.
He was kidnapped in Janzour, but the reasons behind the abduction are still unknown.
Al Thani was due to visit the US tomorrow. It is reported saying that he would be “neither deterred nor intimidated” by his son’s kidnappers
Security have searched throughout Janzur in an attempt to find the kidnappers or clues about them but so far without success.
There have been several abductions in Tripoli but they have been invariably for ransom, not for political reasons. [/restrict]
