Tripoli, 13 August 2013:
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has denied reports that it issued an ultimatum to the Libyan government . . .[restrict]about removing militias from the country’s airports.
A spokesperson from IATA told the Libya Herald that: “IATA has not made any demands of the Libyan government and this rumour is baseless.”
Reports have been circulating on media outlets across the country claiming that IATA had given the government a month to disband militias at airports, after receiving some 2,000 complaints from travellers and airline agencies. [/restrict]
