Tripoli, 5 July 2013:
One man was injured after Tripoli militiamen fired heavy weapons into the air to disperse . . .[restrict]angry local residents, demanding their unit quit the area.
The confrontation occurred this evening outside the base of the Abu Saleem Military Council, an SSC unit that was at the centre of some of the fighting 12 days ago.
Locals called for the militia to disband itself and hand over the base to the police and army. Nervous militiamen reportedly yelled for the crowd to disperse and then fired two extended bursts from heavy weapons into the air. One man, named as Mohammed Ferjani was injured and taken to Abu Selim hospital.
