Fire destroyed three transformers at a power distribution plant at Ajdabiya today. Electricity to the neighbourhood . . .[restrict]was cut while engineers routed in an alternative supply.
The cause of the outbreak at the 11kV is not yet known. Firefighters had to battle acrid smoke to control the blaze which also burnt out some security accommodation directly behind the local GECOL headquarters.
A spokesman for the local council told the Libya Herald that staff were evacuated safely from all the buildings and there were no injuries,
