Benghazi, 25 April 2013:
Benghazi’s public registrar, Yousef Abdurrahim Qarqum, who was kidnapped on Tuesday, was found unconscious today in . . .[restrict]the city’s Gwarsha district. He was taken to the Al Jalaa hospital. It is reported that he had been tortured by his abductors.
Gargum was seized after he claimed in a radio interview that he had evidence that a number of people had forged documents enabling them to establish multiple fake identities and so claim extra family allowances. He said that some people had done it over a hundred times. He said he was going to publicly name the guilty.
Noted for his outspoken views, he was reportedly seized after leaving Libya Al-Ahrar TV studios where he had appeared in a programme following the radio interview. [/restrict]
