Tripoli, 21 March 2013:
Protestors at Waha Oil’s Gialo 59 oilfield who are blockading the entrance in a dispute over jobs for local employees are now reported to be preventing the service contractor at the centre of the protest from entering the field.
According to a source in Jalu, the contractor, reported as Daam Holdings, has now removed equipment to the Waha company’s Waha field. According to the source, this was one of the protestors’ demands.
Production at the Gialo field is still said to be flowing despite the dispute. It produces around 120,000 barrels of oil a day.
