The commander of the 15th Battalion, Jala al-Regi, survived an assassination attempt this evening in Tripoli . . .[restrict]according to reports.
Al-Regi, whose the 15th Battalion is part of the Supreme Security Committee , was shot five times in the legs. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
An eyewitness told the Libya Herald that the perpetrator escaped after the shooting.
The attack, which took place in the Tajoura area of Tripoli, is thought to have been an act of personal revenge. An investigation into the incident is now underway. [/restrict]
