Austrian trade delegation to visit Tripoli 25-28 February

By Sami Zaptia.

Tripoli, 23 February 2013:

An Austrian trade delegation is scheduled . . .[restrict]to visit Tripoli from 25-28 February. The delegation will consist of 20 companies in the fields of healthcare, design, engineering, industry, wood, pipeline connections, logistics and distribution, consulting, human resources supply, general trading, banking, food, chemicals and personal protection.

The Commercial Counselor at the Austrian Embassy in Tripoli (Advantage Austria) David Bachmann informed Libya Herald that initially 50 Austrian companies had registered to be on the trip. However, but due to organizational reasons only 30 could participate. The other 20 companies were to be accommodated on another trip.

Meanwhile, the subsequent security warnings and the Lufthansa/Austrian flight cancellations to Tripoli in the lead-up to this year’s February 17th Revolution anniversary led to 10 companies cancelling – leaving 20 companies.

“It is the first time in the history of Advantage Austria that we had to turn away so many companies that wanted to participate. It proves that Austrian companies believe in the future of Libya.

Our next activity will be bringing 15 companies for the Libya Build exhibition and a trade mission on the same occasion.”, added Bachmann.
