The Misrata Martyrs Brigade based in Beida handed in over 100 Kalshnikov semi-automatic guns to the Jebel Akhdar . . .[restrict]Secuirty department today, Thursday. The handover, a symbolic gesture to help reduce the number of weapons in circulation and help improve security, took place during an event in the town to promote the role of the police in the Jebel Akhdar.
Attending the event were members of the local council, the Beida police chief and other local security officials.
The brigade recently handed over several military vehicles and heavy weapons in its possession to the army. [/restrict]
