Sebha, 30 January 2013:
There was a special celebration at Sebha Airport yesterday when Afriqiyah Airways’ latest Airbus A320 flew in direct from France.
Local Congressman Mohamed Arrish welcomed the new addition to the airline’s fleet saying that it was a very good occasion for Sebha to be the place chosen to receive it, showing as it did that the aviation industry was making the right steps in respect of services. He pointed out that Congress had met with officials from the Ministry of Transport, including Transport Minister Abdel-Qader Mohamed, to discuss airline services throughout Libyan and especially in the south.
The ceremony was attended by other Sebha GNC members, as well as the Transport Minister who cut the airplane reception band following its landing at the airport. There were speeches too from Director of Sebha Airport, Mohamed Ewheida and the Director of Afriqiyah Airways, Abu-Bakr Forteya.
