The government has announced that both this Saturday and Sunday will be public holidays to mark the elections.
However, reports . . .[restrict]that the election of the National Conference will also now be extended to cover the two-day period are untrue. Voting will still only be on Saturday, from 8am to 8pm.
Normally Saturday is part of the two-day weekend break. Because people are expected to use the day to exercise their civic duty and vote, Sunday has been given as a replacement day off.
