Tripoli, 21 May:
Libya Herald has produced its thousandth story since we began publication on 17 February this year.
The milestone was passed . . .[restrict]on Monday. At the same time the number of “hits”, meaning the number of times our stories have been called up and read, approached the 3.4 million mark.
The speed of the success of our online newspaper has exceeded our most optimistic forecasts.
There is much that we want to do better and in greater depth. We are committed to improving and broadening our coverage of Libya and its exciting and challenging future.
Now seems a timely moment to thank our growing ranks of readers for their support. We pledge to you all that we will continue to do our best to bring news of Libya, to all who care about its evolution from dictatorship to democracy and from a kleptocracy to a free market economy.
Thank you.
