Libyan Planning Minister, Isa Tuwejri, discussed during a meeting in Tripoli on Sunday with the delegation of the United . . .[restrict]States Libyan Business Association (USLBA) aspects of trade and economic cooperation between Libya and the United States in various fields.
The minister reviewed with the USLBA delegation, comprising a number of major US companies specialising in oil and gas, energy, consultancy, telecommunications and construction, the potential contribution of these companies in the implementation of development projects in Libya. They also discussed the resumption of existing projects.
They reviewed the legislation relating to foreign investment opportunities in Libya, and explored ways to allow for international companies to invest in Libya in a new transparent way, emphasizing the role of the private sector in the process of development and investment.
The planning minister noted that the USLBA’s visit to Libya had been at the invitation of Libyan Prime Minister Abdurrahim Al Kib. It was made during his visit to the United States to discuss investment opportunities and American companies’ contribution to the construction boom anticipated in Libya. [/restrict]
