Tripoli, 19 April:
Local military councils in some places have been told by the Defence Ministry to vacate government buildings they have . . .[restrict]occupied since they sequestrated them during the revolution.
Confirming the move at Wednesday evening’s official weekly press conference, interim government spokesman Nasser Al-Mana said that there were a great deal of state facilities being used by the military councils in parts of Libya.
He stated that the Defence Ministry had sent letters to the military councils requesting them to evacuate the premises and return them to the respective ministries and state institutions to which they previously belonged. He added that the Defence Ministry has also sent letters to military councils reminding them that it was illegal to alienate public property for their own use and that their duty was to protect such property and facilities.
