There were no injuries.
Local people have protested at the attack.
A week ago, a car filled with ammunition and explosives, blew up in the town. It was said that a grenade had been thrown into the vehicle.
At the beginning of March, the head of the security committee in the town, Colonel Mohammed Al-Hassi, was shot dead outside a petrol station in the town. He was also the head of Derna’s anti-drugs unit and had cracked down hard on local drug smugglers during and before the revolution.
