Prime Minister Abdurrahim Al-Kib is to go Washington next week for talks with President Obama and other US officials.
While in the . . .[restrict]US capital, he will give a talk to the US-Libya Business Association (USLBA) on 8 March and the next day discuss Libya’s political transition and the future of U.S.-Libya relations at Washington’s Carnegie Endowment for International peace.
This will be his first visit to the US since becoming prime minister. He visited Turkey last week, his first visit foreign visit since taking office.
Al-Kib studied in the US, having gained his PhD at North Carolina State University in 1984 and was later professor of electrical engineering at the University of Alabama.
A USLBA business delegation is due to visit Libya between April 20-28. [/restrict]
