Plans are being drawn up between Libya and Malta for large numbers of Libyans to study English in Malta. This was . . .[restrict]disclosed on Thursday by Maltese Education Minister Dolores Cristina at the inauguration of a new English language school at St Paul’s Bay.
The plans were also discussed when Libyan officials visited Malta last month, she said, adding that a Libyan priority was to study English.
Chrtina’s comment follow the visit to Malta last month by Employment minister Mustafa Rujibani during which it was agreed that Malta would provide vocational training in 2012 to at least 1,000 Libyans at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology.
It was said at the time that the project sought to “increase the capabilities, such as English language training” as well as “vocational training, such as welding”.
The project is to be funded by the Libyan government. It includes plans to work not only with MCAST but other private institutions.
