Following Monday’s council elections in Misrata, the first in over 42 years, Libya’s third largest city and industrial centre is to . . .[restrict]hold its own special celebrations on Sunday.
This will coincide with a visit by the entire National Transitional Council. It will hold a meeting there on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
The NTC has been moving around the country holding its meetings in a number of cities and towns. Misrata is last on the current list of these movable sessions.
Meanwhile it is reported that the 28 elected members of the new Misrata council will gather for their first meeting on Saturday. They are expected to elect a council leader at the session.
