The NTC chairman Mustafa Abdel Jalil paid tribute on Wednesday to the support for Libya given last year by the UAE . . .[restrict]and the assistance it provided.
Abdel Jalil’s thanks were made during a meeting with the visiting Secretary-General of the UAE Red Crescent, Dr Ateq Al-Falahi.
For his part, Dr Al Falahi said his week-long visit to Libya aimed to boost cooperation and coordination between the Emirati and Libyan Red Crescent societies so as to deliver further assistance to the Libyans, especially families in need of shelter. A further aim was the rehabilitation of schools and hospitals in badly damaged areas.
In Tripoli Falahi met with Hamid Al Madani, the Secretary-General of the Libyan Red Crescent as well as with Mohammad Al-Zaabi, acting UAE ambassador in Libya. While in the country he will visit Red Crescent branches in a number of towns including Zuara, Sabratha, Tarhuna, Bani Walid, Misrata and Sirte. [/restrict]
