There have been as fresh incident at the Libyan . . .[restrict]Tunisian border crossing of  Ras Jedir.

It is reported by the Tunisians that armed Libyans started shooting at each other on Saturday evening and shots landed on the Tunisian side of the border. Tunisian troops responded by shooting into the air.  According to the Tunisians, there was an argument among Libyan militiamen guarding the border over a truck laden with potatoes and bananas heading for Tunisia.

As a result, the Tunisian authorities again temporarily closed the crossing but it was reopened again on Sunday morning.

Three weeks earlier, on Friday, 3 February,  Tunisia closed the crossing following an incident in which a Tunisian border guard was seized by Libyan militiamen.  They grabbed the man in reprisal for the arrest of two of their colleagues who were causing trouble on the Tunisian side of the border.  The Tunisian was later freed in exchange for the two Libyans.
