Top Bulgarian football team CSKA Sofia are taking advantage of a break in their busy domestic season to play friendlies this . . .[restrict]week with Libyan teams at the Benina Martyrs’ stadium in Benghazi.
While the Bulgarians have said that the visit by CSKA is to celebrate the first anniversary of the start of the revolution, there can be little doubt that the strong performance of the Libyan National team in the Africa Cup of Nations at the start of the year also influenced their decision to come.
Benghazi Club al-Nasser and Tripoli team al-Ahli will each play against CSKA, which has won the national league championship 31 times. The Bulgarian team’s line up includes four international players among them two Brazilians, defender Jose Ademar and attacker Aluisio Chaves.
