Tripoli, 16 January 2015:
There are reports that Libya Dawn militias are on the verge of a split . . .[restrict]following disagreements this morning over a plan from Misrata to announce a unilateral ceasefire in the fighting against government forces.
The Libya Herald understands that at the meeting in Tripoli, militia leaders from Misrata, Khoms, Zliten and some of the Tripoli katibas pressed the case for an unconditional ceasefire. The move was opposed by militia leaders from Ghariyan, Zawia and Sabratha as well as at least one Tripoli brigade, the Katiba Thuwar Tarabulus, which has been linked to Islamic extremists.
