Tripoli, 20 February 2014:
An Egyptian ship and its 32 crew have been detained in Tobruk by the Libyan . . .[restrict]Navy for illegally entering Libyan waters.
The vessel was detained for failing to follow necessary legal procedures and entering Libyan territorial waters without informing the naval base, Navy spokesman Ayoub Qasim said. The crew, however, claimed they had only come close to the shore to seek shelter from bad weather, he said.
The vessel would be impounded until investigations had been completed, Qasim added. [/restrict]
