Benghazi’s Birkah police station, extensively damaged in a bomb attack on Saturday, was . . .[restrict]bombed again this morning. A loud explosion work up the neighbourhood at around 4.30 am. The building is now a complete wreck. No one was hurt in today’s explosion as they building was empty.
As with the previous attack, police have no lead on the culprits. It is not even known if the two incidents are related.
The station is near to Al Kish Square, where drug dealers are reported to hang out.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported today that a bomb went off at a girls’ college, the Ibn Khaldun Institute, in the city’s Tapalino district two days ago. No political motives are thought to be connected to the attack. It is said to have been an act of personal revenge following allegations of harassment made by a student.
