Benghazi, 28 October:
Police are puzzled about the brutal slaying of a man in a Benghazi café on Friday night.
At . . .[restrict]11:30pm, an armed man wearing a mask stormed into “Friends Café” located on the city’s fashionable Dubai Street and shot at two men, 32-year-old Haitham Warfali and Dr Rafaa Tarhouni who was sitting at the same table as him.
Warafli was shot twice in the face and died instantly. His companion, Dr Tarhouni was hit in the leg. The masked man then fled the scene in a Toyota car which was carrying no number plates.
No one has been able to explain the motive for the crime. however, some of the friends of the victim who was a resident of Benghazi’s Majuri district, said that he had been involved in organising demonstrations in Benghazi to protest the blockade of Bani Walid.
Others, however , reject any such link as speculation.
