Tripoli, 9 November 2016:
The murder trial of Saadi Qaddafi has been postponed for an eighth time. The late dictator’s son appeared briefly in the special court room in Hadba prison yesterday.
The trial which began in May 2015 was last postponed in July and was due to resume on 2 October. No explanation was given for this further delay and no date was set for the next hearing.
The charges against Saadi include that in March 2006 he murdered Ittihad Tripoli football team coach, Bashir Al-Rayani. He is also accused of war crimes during the Revolution, false imprisonment and drinking alcohol.
