Tripoli, 21 july 2016:
The United Arab Emirates has sent emergency aid to Tripoli. Two Emirati cargo planes landed today at Mitiga airport.
The aircraft were carrying consignments of food and medical equipment for distribution to local hospitals. These are reportedly the first such deliveries to the west in three years. Other UAE aid flights have gone to Labraq and Tobruk airports in the east.
The aid was sent from Dubai by the UAE Red Crescent. UAE media said that the shipments were part of their country’s efforts to ease the suffering in Libya and to support the Government of National Accord.
