By Libya Herald reporter.

Malta, 13 January 2015:

The Prime Minister of the only internationally recognized government in Libya, Abdullah Thinni, revealed what . . .[restrict]he considered were the basis for the UN brokered talks to be held in Geneva in the coming days.

Thinni was visiting the Western Nefusa mountain region of Libya.

Thinni said that ‘’lessons should be learnt from what had happened in the 17 February revolution. We know that injustice and tyranny will inevitably end’’, referring to the end of the 42 year Qaddafi era.

‘’Those who seek power should do so through the democratic process, through the ballot boxes. This is the Libyan people’s choice and it is absolutely irrevocable’’, he added referring to the universally accepted 2014 June 25 House of Representatives elections that had ended the General National Congress’s reign.

‘‘The Libyan people do not want after these sacrifices to return to square one, which is the rule of one single person, one single group or one single extremist ideology’’, he said sending a message to the Islamists and Libya Dawn faction.

With regards to the forthcoming dialogue with the GNC/Libya Dawn faction, Thinni held out both a carrot and a stick.

‘’The training, equipping and preparing of (military) forces is required’’, he said waving a stick.

‘’At the same time, if “Libya Dawn” recognized the legitimacy of the House of Representatives and the Government born out of it, the fight against terrorism, the support of the army and security services, and the ceasing of the encroachment on the sanctity of human beings and homes and even on animals — If they returned to their senses – the Libyan people will in all certainty accept this. The national interest of Libya is in its unity and is the basis of everything’’, he concluded.

Thinni’s visit also included consultations and coordination with LNA command and inspections of ‘’current preparations of the Libyan National Army (LNA) to root out militias from the western region and for the securing of the capital Tripoli after its liberation’’.

His tour included the city of Zintan and the frontlines in the Bir Ghanam area as well as the strategic and much contested Wuttiya airbase. It is believed that the LNA Air Force use the Wuttiya airbase to launch air strikes across the western region against Libya Dawn forces. [/restrict]
