Benghazi, 7 May:
NTC Chairman Mustafa Abdul Jalil is . . .[restrict]recuperating in Benghazi Medical Centre following a hernia operation on Saturday evening. Doctors say he is doing well.
On Saturday, it was reported that he had been hospitalised after complaining of feeling unwell. At the time it was said that there was a problem with his blood pressure as a result of stress caused by the pressures of work but that he would be discharged after just a few hours.
However, after the hernia operation he has disclosed on Sunday in an impromptu press conference that doctors in Tripoli had previously diagnosed the need for such an intervention.
“I had this operation, it took around an hour. My health situation is excellent. I don’t have any other health problems,” he said. “I would like to assure people that my general health is very good and I will go to work after a rest.”
Fathi Al-Jihani, a doctor at Benghazi Medical Centre, is quoted as saying. “His health situation is very good. We carried out some tests and everything is ok,” said
“He is getting better and will be out in two days.” [/restrict]
