Zawia University co-hosts Islamic Finance Forum in Tunisia

Tripoli, 19 June 2014:

The Tunisian Association of Zakat in Sfax and the University of Zawia have just finished running  the . . .[restrict]Third International Forum for Islamic Finance in the Tunisian city of Sfax.  Entitled  Islamic Finance and its Role in Economic and Social Development: Endowment Cheques and Investment Cheques, the event ran on 16 and 17 June.

Over 100 scholars, researchers and legal and financial experts from across the Muslim world and beyond world attended – from Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Malaysia, Mauritania, Pakistan, Palestine, Sudan, Turkey, the UAE and Yemen as well France, Australia and The Netherlands.

According to the forum’s organisers, the purpose of the two-day event was to see cross-fertilisation between the research and practical sides of Islamic finance, as well as to establish ongoing cooperation between those Libyans and Tunisians who participated in the forum.
