Tripoli, 30 April 2014:
Prime Minister Abdullah Al-Thinni met yesterday with special British Prime Ministerial envoy Jonathan Powell to discuss the United . . .[restrict]Kingdom’s support of Libya.
In their discussions at Prime Ministry, UK involvement in infrastructure and military training were high on the agenda.
The Prime Minister thanked Powell and his delegation for their visit, stressing the importance of the relationship between the two countries. He said it was his desire to see continued mutual cooperation between Libya and Britain, for the benefit of both nations.
For his part Powell said the British government was ready to continue its support of Libya particularly in the reform and development of the military and security forces.
In a letter to Thinni prior to the meeting, British Prime Minister David Cameron said plans were in their final stages for the arrival of 360 Libyan Army recruits to arrive in Britain next month. [/restrict]
