Benghazi, 13 January 2013:
It is reported that a member of Saiqa special forces brigade in Derna killing was . . .[restrict]killed last night just around 8pm.
Ziyad Al-Nuaisry was murdered in a drive-by shooting by an unknown assailant as he left the town’s Hussein Mosque after Isha prayer. He died instantly. It is reported that the killers used a silencer.
This is the first killing of a security official this year in the town, seen as the heartland of militant Islamism. Last year, at least 19 security and state officials were murdered in the town, making it the second most violent place in the country after Benghazi.
Just over three weeks ago, the head of Benghazi’s military intelligence was shot in in Derna when leaving a mosque.
