Congolese diplomat attacked in Janzour area, driver injured

Tripoli, 21 August 2013:

A Congo (Brazzaville) diplomatic official was victim of an attack in the Janzour area of Tripoli . . .[restrict]by an unknown group of criminals yesterday trying to steal the vehicle.  His Malian driver was slightly injured, Rami Kaal spokesman of the Ministry of Interior told the Libya Herald.

“The Malian driver was fighting against the group when he got slightly injured in one of his legs”, Kaal explained.  The driver was taken to Abu Sleem hospital for treatment and then released.

The Mitsubishi Lancer car was being driven under a bridge near Janzour when an armed group believed to be from the area attacked it .
