The complex process of issuing of visas for travel between Libya and Italy may be simplified . . .[restrict]as a result of talks in Tripoli today.
The Libyan Minister of Tourism, Ikram Basha Imam, met the Italian ambassador in Tripoli, Giuseppe Grimaldi, about joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism.
Media office manager at the Tourism Ministry, Adel Farina, told the Libya Herald that both sides agreed on closer cooperation. The partnership will be enhanced by the exchange of experience in areas of training and languages, to boost Libya’s skills in tourism.
“Imam and Grimaldi also discussed ways to facilitate the granting of visas for travel between Libya and Italy more easily,” said Farina. A technical joint committee will be now formed, made up of both Libyans and Italians, to oversee visa procedures for the two countries’ citizens.
The re-activation of an agreement signed between Libya and Italy in 1998 on medical tourism, training and exchange of experiences, was also agreed.
The undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Abdulsamea Mahboob, and the director of the Department of International Cooperation, Mohamed Fakroon, were also present at the meeting. [/restrict]
