Tripoli, 26 December:
The Ministry of Interior has decided to temporarily stop granting Libyan citizenship to applicants, Libyan news agency LANA reported . . .[restrict]yesterday.
In the statement, a spokesperson said that no further applicants would be granted Libyan citizenship until the ministry had put a proper mechanism of checks in place and until all concerns about the application process had been addressed.
The spokesperson also announced that the ministry had appointed a body to oversee the training committees that are working to help integrate members of the Supreme Security Committee into the police forces. [/restrict]
