The Danish Chamber of Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Libya’s General Union of Chambers aimed at strengthening frameworks for economic cooperation and activating bilateral partnerships in several areas of mutual interest. It is hoped that this signing will contribute to economic development and serve the interests of both countries.
The signing of the MoU came during an official visit by a delegation from the General Union of Chambers, headed by its President Mohamed Raied, to Denmark. The delegation arrived in Copenhagen last Sunday 26 April, and was received by members of the Libyan Embassy in Denmark.
The General Union said the visits comes as part of efforts to strengthen international economic relations and expand cooperation.
Exploring opportunities for economic and investment cooperation
In coordination with the Libyan Embassy, an official meeting was held between the delegation and officials from the Danish Chamber of Industry. The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for economic and investment cooperation between the two countries and examining potential areas of partnership to enhance mutual interests.
Denmark interested in developing cooperative relations with Libya
The General Union reported that the Danish side emphasized its interest in developing cooperative relations with Libya and its readiness to establish effective communication channels that contribute to building sustainable strategic partnerships.
Libya’s promising growth potential across various sectors
During the meeting, the head of the delegation and members of the Union presented a comprehensive overview of the latest economic developments in Libya. The overview highlighted the positive indicators that reflect Libya’s progress towards economic stability and the attractive investment environment it offers, supported by promising growth potential across various sectors.
The General Union: an umbrella organisation for Libya’s private sector
The President of the General Union, Mohamed Al-Raied, also reviewed the pivotal role the General Union plays in supporting the national economy, as the umbrella organisation for private sector institutions, and its efforts to promote economic activity and develop the business environment in Libya.
The General Union of Chambers affirmed its commitment to continuing its efforts to build effective international economic relations and enhance the presence of the Libyan private sector in regional and international forums.
