Aldabaiba continues to appoint new ministers despite political opposition to the legality of the process

Tripoli based Libyan Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba continued his new ministerial appointments despite the political opposition to the legality of the appointment process.

Yesterday, he appointed:

 – Essam Al-Tamouni as the new Minister of Housing and Reconstruction

– Husni Awaidan as the new Minister of Water Resources

– Jamal Abugrain as the new ‎Minister of State for Displaced Persons and Human Rights‎

This follows on from the appointment of

– Salem Mustafa Hussein Al-Alam as the new Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development (last Monday 2 March)

– Mohamed Abdel Salam Al-Grew as the new Minister of Education (Monday 2 March)

The appointments are objected to on the grounds that the Tripoli government does not have the authority or mandate to conduct a ministerial reshuffle – without the approval of other Libyan entities such as parliament and the High State Council.
