The Tripoli based Libyan government announced on 8 January that an expanded meeting was held on the same day with representatives from the Italian Embassy in Libya and Italian management consulting firm, specializing in the health sector, Eviso.
The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary and Acting Minister of Health, Mohamed Al-Ghouj; the Head of the Executive Team for PM’s Initiatives and Strategic Projects, Mustafa Al-Manea; and the Director of the Follow-up Department at the Prime Minister’s Office, Adel Dhuwair.
During the meeting, the necessary steps for developing the health sector were discussed, along with the sector’s needs and the most prominent challenges and obstacles facing development efforts, in line with the Prime Minister’s directives to strengthen the health system.
The attendees emphasized the importance of collaborating with international expertise and specialized consulting firms to enhance planning, development, and operation within the health sector, and to ensure the provision of high-quality medical services to citizens.
It was also agreed to monitor the implementation of strategic initiatives and projects related to the health sector according to a clear timeline, with a focus on overcoming obstacles and achieving tangible results in improving infrastructure and medical services, as part of the plan to restore normalcy.
