Misrata Chamber of Commerce reported yesterday that its Chairman, Fathi Al-Amin Al-Turki, its Vice Chairman, along with several department heads, received Liu Jian, Chargé d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Libya, and his accompanying delegation.
Fathi Al-Amin began the meeting, held at the Chamber’s headquarters; by introducing the city of Misrata, the companies affiliated with the Chamber, and the most important activities undertaken and organized by the Chamber. These included the new investment tower and the 6th African Building Exhibition, which the Chamber will organize in May 2026. He also welcomed the return of the Chinese Embassy to Tripoli to resume its operations.
For his part, the Chamber reported, Liu Jian expressed his deep admiration for the economic development taking place in Misrata. He also commended the work of some Chinese companies operating within the city.
Visas for businesspeople, Chinese banks accepting Libyan LCs
The attendees also discussed facilitating visa procedures for Libyan businesspeople traveling to China and encouraged Chinese companies to accept letters of credit issued by Libyan banks. Fathi Al-Amin also called on the Chargé d’affaires to open a Chinese embassy office in Misrata.
