‎Italy is to help Libya by supporting Libyan products break into the Italian market and from there to the rest of Europe.

The news came out of the first preliminary meeting between the Director General of the Libyan Export Promotion Centre (LEPC), Mohamed Al-Deeb, and the head of the Italian Trade Agency ‎(ITA / ICE), Tripoli Office, Luigi D’ Apria, held yesterday at the LEPC’s Tripoli headquarters.

‎The LEPC said the meeting comes within the framework of the LEPC’s follow-up on the outcomes of the Libyan Italian Economic Forum, which was held in Tripoli late last year with the wide participation of the two countries and under the patronage of the Tripoli based Libyan Prime Minister and the Italian Prime Minister, where a memorandum of understanding was signed between the LEPC and ITA.

‎Mechanisms to implement the MOU
The two sides discussed the mechanisms related to the organisation of work according to the signed memorandum of understanding. This included the development of a joint executive programme to work according to specific terms and dates to achieve the maximum possible benefit to support local products in breaking into the Italian market and from there to the rest of Europe.‎
