Libyan Railroads preparing economic feasibility studies with Italy’s ITALFERR for Chad-Niger rail link

Libyan Railroads announced last Wednesday (17 April) that the Railway Link Committee between Libya, Chad and Niger (the Libyan International Railway Corridor) met virtually with Daniel Maranzano, Director of the Africa and Middle East Region for Marketing Development and International Activities at ITALFERR.

The meeting discussed preparing economic feasibility studies and reviewing the initial report for what Libyan Railways called ‘‘this strategic project’’. ‏

Libyan Railroads reported that the Italian company welcomed the study of this project, and it was agreed to continue communication and meetings to complete the next steps.

Italferr, the Italian State Railways Group Engineering firm, is a consulting and project company belonging to FS, the Italian railway state company. It operates on the Italian and international markets in the field of railway transport engineering.
