The Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Council of Ministers, Al-Taher Al-Baour, discussed with the President of the Libyan Gushtaf Biofuel Production Company, Saleh Abu Sir, the project to localise the biofuel industry and production in Libya, its environmental, economic and international dimensions, its goals, and how to benefit from it locally and internationally.

Abu Sir explained, through a visual presentation, the importance of the project, and how to extract biofuel from the oil of the Jatropha tree, which is intended to be planted in many municipalities in quantities of up to 40 million seedlings.

Al-Baour stressed the importance of the vital and strategic project, hoping that Libya would take advanced steps towards manufacturing and using clean biofuels.

The meeting was held at the Department of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, in the presence of mayors of several municipalities, delegates from various ministries, specialists, experts and university professors.
