Libya’s Foreign Minister Najla Mangoush congratulated Germany’s decision to move the majority of its Libya embassy staff back from to Tunis to Tripoli.
Tweeting on Friday, she said ‘‘I am pleased to announce that the majority of German diplomats have moved permanently to their workplace at the German Embassy in Tripoli, after nearly 9 years of working in Tunisia.
This transition represents a new positive indication of the optimism of Libya’s friends about the future of our country and is the result of continuous efforts between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions.’’
On Friday, German Ambassador to Tripoli, Michael Ohnmacht had tweeted ‘‘Another big step to strengthen our Libyan German relations! The majority of German diplomats are now moving permanently to their duty stations in Tripoli. One of their main aim goals for next year: To make it possible that all colleagues, including the visa team, can move to Libya’’.
