MFZ reveals machinery and equipment received in 2021/22 and what it is expecting in 2023

The International Forum & Exhibition for Free Zones – Misrata: 28 to 29 June at Misrata Free Zone

Misrata Free Zone (MFZ) revealed the machinery and equipment it received in 2021/22 for marine operations and handling operations and what it is expecting to receive in 2023.

It said this is part of the implementation of its strategy to develop, improve the quality of work, and raise production capacity.

It also said it aims to continue to preserve its port as the pioneer of Libyan ports and activate the maritime transit trade business.

The equipment and machinery it received in 2021/22 were:

  • Supply of 10 traction heads.
  • Supply of 11 forklifts with loads of 7, 14, 20, and 37 tons, bringing the total number of forklifts to 50.
  • Supply of 6 pickups with a capacity of 45 tons, bringing the total number of pickups to 30.
  • Supply of 2 pilot boats “Al-Aqla / Al-Amer”, bringing the total number of marine vessels to 11 pieces.
  • Supply of 7 different vehicles.

For 2023, it reported that several mechanisms, marine tugboats and cranes will be supplied with modern specifications that will contribute to raising the level of production within the MFZ port.

These will be:

  • 1 marine tugboat (Misrata) with a towing force is 85 tons, at a speed of 12 knots, with a total payload of 500 tons.
  • 3 mobile cranes: 2 loads of 24 tons, 1 load of 20 tons
  • Also, mechanisms under contract:
  • Under contract: 4 STS gantry cranes
  • Under contract: 4 RTG cranes
