The head of Libya’s Privatization and Investment Board (PIB) met on Tuesday at its Tripoli headquarters, accompanied by the head of the Libyan Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, a delegation of Lebanese business leaders, which included a Member of the Lebanese Parliament, and advisors to the Lebanese Minister of Industry.
The PIB said the meeting was within the framework of the cooperation and the strengthening of relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, coordination was made for the attendance of Lebanese investors and business owners (for the Nineteenth Conference of Arab Business Owners and Investors), which is scheduled to be held in Libya during the last week of this month.
Industrial zones and projects, tourism recycling
The meeting included introducing the PIB’s activity and explaining the objectives of the Libyan Investment Promotion Law. Several projects and investment opportunities of interest to some Lebanese investors were also discussed, the most important of which is the implementation of industrial zones, and the promotion of establishing industrial projects in them, as well as other projects in the field of services needed by the tourism sector, and projects to re-establish waste recycling.
It was agreed to prepare some information to be presented to Lebanese investors during their presence to attend the Nineteenth Conference at the end of November.
