London, 11 August 2021:

The World Health Organization Libya (WHO) has agreed with Libya’s Health Ministry to:

  • Provide 3 oxygen factories in coordination with Italy.
  • Coordinate and cooperate in developing a strategy for developing the health system, including ambulance, emergency, and village hospitals, and preparing a strategy for child health and mental illness.
  • Coordinate and cooperate in providing medicines for AIDS patients for a period of six months.

The agreement followed the meeting of Libya’s Health Minister Ali Zanati yesterday with Elizabeth Hoff, the representative of the World Health Organization in Libya, and her accompanying delegation.

The meeting reviewed and drew up health policies and strategies, and identified the necessary and important priorities facing the Coronavirus Isolation Centres and the time and work needed to find solutions to them in cooperation with WHO.
