London, 25 February 2019:

The Faiez Serraj-led Presidency Council and Government of National Accord Minister of Health, Ahmeed Mohamed Bin Omar, met on Sunday at the Ministry in Tripoli a high level British delegation as part of the promotion of all aspects of bilateral cooperation in the field of health.

During the meeting, the Minister stated that Libya’s Ministry of Health was seeking a genuine partnership between the two countries in the field of health, especially since the UK possesses the expertise and experience in the field of health, which opens the horizons for Libyan national cadres in scientific and training aspects.

The Ministry of Health reported that the British delegation expressed their country’s desire to support the Libyan health sector and establish partnerships in all aspects of services, the most important of which is the health sector.

It will be recalled that the meeting had been preceded by a meeting with the Chargé d’affaires of the British Embassy in Libya in early February, who had stressed the UK’s desire to open all areas of cooperation with the Libyan State, including health cooperation, and that they are following up on the recovery of the sector, which will help the partnership between the two countries.
