Brega Petroleum Marketing Company confirmed that a drone struck the Oil Blending and Packaging Plant of Zawia Oil Refinery early this morning. The drone does not seem to have caused any serious damage.

The drone that struck the untreated naphtha tank (1-7) at the Zawiya Refinery last Saturday puncturing two holes and causing it to leak. The tank did not catch fire.
The drone that struck the Zawia Water Desalination Plant on Sunday puncturing a pipeline and causing the plant to stop operating.
The drone that struck the petrol tank (402-T) yesterday causing it to catch fire and collapse.

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) released a statement about this particular drone arrack:
’’Oil assets in the city of Zawia are still subject to sabotage attacks by remote-controlled drones, as the oil mixing and bottling plant of the Zawia Oil Refining Company was recently targeted by another drone that fell near the main oil tank and the network of pipes used in the manufacture of oils for the benefit of the local market.
This attack is the third of its kind on Sunday and Monday, which warns of a danger lurking in the oil assets in the region, and calls for the urgent and precise intervention of the competent authorities under various names.
While confirming that there has been no human or material damage as a result of this latest targeting, the NOC calls on the members of the fire and safety teams to take precaution and be prepared for any developments, and to increase the pace of the implementation of the conditions for the safety of lives first.

The Corporation's Board of Directors also confirms that in the event of the continuation of these attacks, it will be forced to declare a state of force majeure and completely stop work at the refinery
